Dear all;

Group Anniversary Camp, Friday 24th May – Monday 27th May 2013

As part of our 90th Anniversary celebrations we are organising a Group camp over the Spring Bank Holiday week-end. I say Group advisedly as it is really a group camp, family camp, come for the day camp, reunion camp and much more.

Throughout the week-end the theme will be simple: - have as much fun as possible celebrating this milestone. There will be many activities to take part in including rock climbing, archery, air-rifle shooting, inflatable fun, grass sledging, bungee running and lots more. How about a BBQ followed by a Disco, a massive camp fire……I could go on but you get the gist.

We intend this week-end to be available to every member of the Group from the youngest Beaver to the oldest Leader, families who may like to join us and past members who fancy catching up on old friends. We also have a small provision for caravans. All of our Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers will be entitled to come regardless of whether they are with their family or independently. Beavers who are not with their family are, under Scout rules which will apply, able to only stay overnight but this really means from Saturday morning to Sunday evening and sleeping in tents. This is the first year we are able to include them in this way. Cubs, Scouts and Explorers will camp in the normal way. We are also investigating transport ideas for getting the young members to and fro.

We will be camping at Blackland Farm nr East Grinstead. Blackland Farm is a Guide camp site which we have used on a number of occasions. We have booked a whole field which would normally be big enough for four or five sites and include toilet facilities. We are looking into electric connections for caravans but this could be difficult. All the activities are provided by either the site or us.

In order to keep this camp affordable for everybody we intend to make a small charge of £10 per adult and £5 per child (14 and under) for the week-end. The majority of the cost will be funded by some of the monies we can claim from Gift Aid which we have ear marked to help out the 2013 celebrations.

What I need from you now is to put the date in your diary, fill in the form below indicating your desire to join us at Blackland Farm and take it to your section meetings along with your full payment or you can e mail carole.atkinson@1sthook.org.uk Please return forms by 18th January 2013

If you would like any further information at this stage please do not hesitate to ask me.

Best wishes
